Work from Home Position

Purchasing and Order Entry Specialist: Work from Home Opportunity SMARTDESKS, a B to B furniture manufacturer and distributor serving a global market, seeks an experienced team player with the following skills:

Knowledge Base
  • Familiarity with Materials, Parts and Methods for Wood and Metal Furniture Fabrication
  • Ability to read Bills of Materials and Engineering Drawings
Purchasing Skills
  • Experience negotiating Vendor Prices based on volume and custom requirements
  • Resolution of variances from standard pricing on order acknowledgments from Vendor
Production Coordination with Vendors and Logistics Managers
  • Responsible for Order Acknowledgments to Customers in ERP System
  • Responsible for Order Acknowledgments from Vendors in ERP System
  • Coordinate order status between suppliers via email and telephone
  • Responsible for updating Order completion dates with Vendors in ERP System
  • Candidate should be able to communicate sense of urgency for production management and scheduling coordination across vendors related to the project.
Data Entry Skills in Accounting systems, Microsoft Office
  • Responsible for the entry, proofing and submission of Customer Purchase Orders
  • Responsible for the creation of related Vendor Purchase Orders
  • Responsible for the maintenance of stock levels and inventory in MRP system
  • Responsible for the maintenance of Vendor Pricing Updates in MRP system
Education and Work Experience
  • AA or Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Contract furniture or Millwork Industries
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with ERP system. Previous experience in Accounting Software Programs required
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office Suite, and Outlook
  • Systems thinker, Problem solver and Team player with positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in stressful situations such as tight deadlines and unexpected production problems
  • Self-Starter with ability to prioritize, follow-up and complete multiple projects accurately, on time and with minimal supervision
